The Why
Medical school programs have rankings. Graduate programs have rankings. Hospitals have rankings. Individual providers even have rankings. Just about every program and facet of healthcare has a ranking and data driven approach to evaluate and compare programs - except for administrative fellowship programs.
In pursuit of an administrative fellowship, if you were anything like me, I was relegated to painstakingly chatting with 25+ programs, each programs associated fellows, and using hospital rankings as proxy for fellowship program strength. Here are a few flaws in the approach:
-My sample size was woefully inadequate
-Some fellows I was chatting with had only been with their organizations a matter of weeks or months
-Responses I was getting didn't allow for anonymity and more candid responses
-Hospital rankings can have little to do with actual fellowship program investment
That was the genesis of this idea - I have created a survey to be taken by past fellows based on variables that will be important to future prospective fellows (salary, retention, preceptor strength, NPS, etc.). Responses will be aggregated over multiple years to anonymize responses and will be produced for programs to assess their outcomes and prospective administrative fellows to rank and prioritize their applications.
All past administrative fellows, please take a minute to fill out this survey. It can take as little as 5 mins.
Thank you!
Your Fellow Past Fellow,
Justin Maxfield
